"...sounds that linger on lonely stretches of the radio dial, where Cat Stevens, Harry Chapin, and Randy Vanwarmer crackle on with their infinite humble appeal."
The new album from The Hot Sardines is now available for pre-order! Welcome Home, Bon Voyage captures the Hot Sardines in two landmark rooms from their career: a hometown set at the renowned Joe’s Pub in New York City, the first venue to really give the Sardines a home, and the acoustically-magnificent Koerner Hall in Toronto at the Royal Conservatory of Music, one of the first major halls the Sardines had sold out.
“This music reaches fans who are 17 or 97, who speak English or Russian or Spanish or Japanese,” adds Evan. “It’s a joy and an honor to get to play this music around the world in 2019.”
Because Music announces Stay Around, the first posthumous release of works by beloved songwriter, guitarist, and singer JJ Cale, compiled by those closest to him - his widow, musician Christine Lakeland Cale, and friend and longtime manager, Mike Kappus.
Matthew Milia (of frontier ruckus) is releasing a new album in May: Alone At St. Hugo. The record captures the sound of two friends setting out to find a harmony-laden, power pop backdrop for Milia's signature lyricism. Their bedroom-fi analog approach resulted in something both classically lush and intimately raw at once. Pre-order packages are available now, including CDs, "coke bottle" translucent LPs, cassettes, and limited edition watercolor prints.
